Your Job:

As an Equipment & Maintenance Engineer (Aligners), you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of automated equipment within an optics manufacturing environment. In this position, you will coordinate maintenance technicians, resolve complex equipment issues, support production operations, and contribute to automation and equipment optimization initiatives. You will also serve as a technical resource, sharing knowledge and helping develop the capabilities of the team.

Our Team:

You will be part of the OSBU organization, working closely with maintenance technicians, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and production teams to support equipment performance, quality, and operational excellence within the Molex Guadalajara 1 facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor and report key maintenance performance indicators, including downtime (DT), MTTR, and MTBF.
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex equipment issues and work with machine suppliers when additional expertise is required.
  • Support the safe commissioning, validation, and release of machinery for production in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in production floor meetings and contribute to maintenance-related decision making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct maintenance audits and help ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements, including ISO 9000 standards.
  • Contribute to electrical installation layout activities, validation projects, and new equipment implementation.
  • Manage maintenance plans, spare parts inventory, and supplier development initiatives to improve equipment reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Integrate and manage vision systems used for automated inspection and quality control applications.
  • Implement and support motion control systems, including stepper motors and servomotors.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an Automation department or Maintenance area.
  • Experience resolving complex technical issues and applying root cause analysis methodologies such as 5W2H, 5 Why, Pareto, and Ishikawa.
  • Technical English proficiency to communicate with suppliers and interpret technical documentation.
  • Experience with automation equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of GR&R and CPK analysis and machinery release activities.
  • Intermediate programming skills in C++ or Python.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience working with automated processes and within the electronics industry.
  • Automation background.
  • Green Belt certification.
