We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! In this position you will perform various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to assist in the repair on waterlines, valves, hydrants, and other related components; operates motorized equipment to assist in the repair and maintenance of County water and sewer line systems.
Summary of Job Duties:
- Operates jackhammers, chain cutters, power drills, hand tools, and other light equipment to assist with unskilled and semi-skilled repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines, hydrants, mains, and related components.
- Operates truck to haul materials and assist with the installation and repair of water/sewer lines, hydrants, and other related components.
- Prepares and submits reports reflecting work performed, materials used, work orders.
- Returns streets, laws, etc. to original condition after completing assigned work projects (e.g., shovels soil, lays seed, patches asphalt, etc.).
- May operate backhoe to load truck or perform other semi-skilled work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Training and/or work experience in maintenance of water/sewer lines, hydrants, mains and other related components.
- In operating jackhammer, chain cutters, etc. and maintenance practices.
- must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License - Class A within six (6) months of employment.
- Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Regularly required to perform manual labor such as: lifting, digging, and climbing.
- Works in confined spaces and awkward positions that require bending and twisting.
