R.H. White is hiring an Equipment Operator (Equipment Operator III) to support Utility Construction across Northern New England from Bow, NH. This senior role exists to keep underground utility infrastructure moving safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities include operating heavy equipment for excavation and earthwork, supporting Underground Utilities installation (Water Main, Sewer Main, Storm Drainage, and Gas Main/Natural Gas Distribution), working around live utilities, and using GPS Machine Control/grade control (Topcon/Trimble) to maintain line and grade.

Required qualifications/skills:
- 5+ years as a Heavy Equipment Operator in utility/civil/sitework environments
- Proficient on excavators, backhoes, dozers, graders, loaders, telehandlers, and compact track loaders
- Ability to read plans, utility drawings, cut sheets, grades, and stakes
- Strong trenching/excavation knowledge: shoring, trench safety, soil conditions, clearances
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain/maintain gas utility OQs; travel required; M–F
- Preferred: MA Hoisting License (or applicable state), OSHA 10, DOT Medical Card

Apply to help build the Utility Infrastructure communities rely on.

On the Jobsite

Your morning starts with an Equipment Operator walk-around, a quick check-in with the utility crew, and a look at the day’s grades and layout. From there, you’re moving between Excavation, Trenching, backfilling, and fine grading as the work shifts—today it might be Water/Wastewater Construction or Force Main work, tomorrow a Storm Drainage tie-in or Gas Pipeline/Utility Infrastructure scope for Public Works.

Across Bow, NH and job locations throughout New England (travel required), you’ll coordinate equipment moves, keep production steady in a fast-paced outdoor setting, and stay in sync with foremen and crews as conditions change. The day ends with cleanup, notes for the next shift, and getting the machine ready to roll again.
