EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST
Summary
Maintains and improves port operations equipment for the Navy, ensuring regulatory compliance and investigating material deficiencies.
You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in PORT OPERATIONS (N31) of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.
You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all areas of small boat, service craft and waterfront collateral equipment for the Port Operations enterprise.
You will update programs to maintain regulatory compliance through recommended changes to policies or procedures.
You will investigate material deficiencies to provide recommendations to suppliers, users, or repairers.
You will develop written recommendations to improve material ordering, procuring, and receipt process.
You will discuss contract modification issues (funding, tasking, or manpower) with contractors and various agency or activity personnel.
You will use computer software applications to document technical work (e.g., compile data, prepare reports and procedures, perform research).
