🚀 About the Role

Join an innovative engineering team working on advanced chip testing equipment and next-generation optical technologies. We are looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer with experience in optical component testing, semiconductor equipment or precision test systems to drive product performance, reliability and quality.

In this role, you will work closely with R&D engineers to test prototypes, analyse performance data, troubleshoot technical issues and develop test standards for mass production. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to advanced testing solutions while strengthening your expertise in optical and semiconductor technologies.

🧪 Key Responsibilities

• Prototype Testing & Verification: Develop test plans and test environments to evaluate R&D prototypes across optical performance, electrical characteristics, motion accuracy and environmental reliability.

• Optical & Semiconductor Testing: Perform performance verification for optical-electronic die testing equipment, assessing key parameters such as coupling accuracy, test repeatability, bit error rate and testing efficiency.

• Data Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyse test results, identify performance bottlenecks and design-related issues, and collaborate with R&D teams to implement corrective actions.

• Test System Development: Establish test specifications, define test cases and develop automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency, consistency and coverage.

• Reliability & Performance Improvement: Conduct reliability verification and systematic performance evaluations to ensure equipment meets required specifications.

• Mass Production Support: Collaborate with the Malaysia engineering team to establish mass production testing procedures and develop standardised test specifications and SOPs.

• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed test reports, document findings and maintain accurate engineering records to support product development and quality improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Optoelectronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and verification of optical components, semiconductor equipment or related precision test systems.

• Hands-on experience with optical communication testing instruments and test data analysis.

• Ability to independently design test plans, develop test cases and analyse technical results.

• Experience in silicon photonic chip testing, optical module testing or semiconductor testing equipment is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with CPO/OE die testing parameters, optical coupling and relevant industry standards is an advantage.

• Python or MATLAB scripting skills for test automation are preferred.

• Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach to testing, troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Good written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.

• Able to collaborate effectively with R&D and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.
