Esports - Head Coach League of Legends (Part-time)

The Head Coach is a disciplined and motivated individual who provides guidance to the student athletes and administrative assistance to the Esports Director with an emphasis on recruitment. Responsible for the day to day team operations. Will establish a strong sense of team identity and values across all game titles. Responsible for assisting with execution of summer camp/combine experiences to develop proactive recruiting and fostering a healthy local community of gamers. This position is part-time, paid over ten months – August to May. This position may be conducted fully-online, hybrid, or in-person. Travel for competitions may be necessary.

Essential Functions of Job:

Grow and develop a successful Esports program:

  1. Provide player and team development, fostering a successful competitive League of Legends team.
  2. Attend team practices and official matches.
  3. Conduct recruitment activities in accordance with NACE and all Esports governing body rules and regulations.
  4. Develop and execute recruiting strategies with the Esports Director to ensure program stability and growth.
  5. Set and meet monthly recruitment goals for Varsity and Junior Varsity League of Legends.
  6. Monitor the academic progress of student athletes to ensure students meet eligibility and graduation standards.
  7. Establish an effective schedule for practices and games (league & tournament schedule coordination).
  8. Maintain the Esports facility, equipment, and other assets.
  9. Assist Esports Director with fund-raising activities for the Esports program.
  10. Assist Esports Director with summer camps for prospective esport student-athletes.
  11. Keep current of rolling updates and patches as metagame evolves.
  12. Promote attendance at Esports events by providing information for students, faculty, staff and the public.
  13. Perform other athletic administrative duties as assigned.
  14. Maintain student confidentiality.
