Estate and Probate Legal Assistant
Posted
At New Leaf Family, we help clients navigate some of the most significant transitions in their lives — including the loss of a loved one, the settling of an estate, and planning for the future. Our mission is to guide families through these moments with clarity, compassion, and precision.
We’re looking for an experienced Estate and Probate Legal Assistant who wants their organizational skills to matter. This isn’t paperwork for its own sake. The petitions you prepare, the estate files you organize, and the calls you take with families during a difficult time are what keep a case moving when it matters most.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
✓
Be the client’s advocate. Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and beneficiaries, gathering the information their probate and estate matters depend on.
✓
Move estates forward. Partner with attorneys on estate administration — preparing and filing probate petitions, inventories, and accountings with Colorado probate courts.
✓
Draft with precision. Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, letters testamentary, and notices to heirs and creditors.
✓
Never miss a deadline. Track probate deadlines and court dates, ensuring filings comply with the Colorado Probate Code (C.R.S. Title 15).
✓
Keep things moving. Coordinate with financial institutions, county courts, and other third parties throughout estate administration.
✓
Run a tight office. Maintain the filing systems and administrative rhythms that let our attorneys focus on their cases.
✓
Show up where needed. Travel to Colorado courts and attorney offices as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
✓
Experienced. 1+ years of legal support experience in a law firm or under an attorney’s supervision (estate planning or probate experience a plus).
✓
Communicates with care. Sharp written and verbal skills, with the sensitivity to work with clients during difficult moments.
✓
Organized. Genuine strength in organization and time management — you’re the person who catches what others miss.
✓
Bonus points: Spanish fluency; bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
