This position provides guidance, review, and mentorship to ensure estimates meet company standards for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness. If there is a discipline lacking in completeness, the Estimating Manager shall support the finalization to ensure a successful final product.
What You'll Do
- Lead the preparation and review of accurate cost estimates and proposals for utility-scale solar, substation, BESS, and energy infrastructure projects.
- Manage the bid process from RFP review through submission, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver complete, compliant, and competitive proposals on schedule.
- Oversee estimating quality and consistency by validating pricing, labor assumptions, construction methods, general conditions, and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate project risks, opportunities, constructability, and pricing strategies while collaborating with engineering, procurement, operations, and project management teams.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in renewable energy, electrical construction, or heavy civil infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading complex bid efforts and preparing estimates for utility-scale solar, BESS, substation, or similar energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, labor productivity, project cost drivers, and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement by mentoring the estimating team, refining estimating processes and tools, maintaining cost databases, and incorporating lessons learned into future bids.
