Estimator

*Job Summary*

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Estimator Manager in collecting, organizing, and analyzing information necessary for the preparation of construction project proposals and estimates.

*Duties*

* Collect, organize, and keep updated plans, specifications, and other documents required for the preparation of estimates.
* Request and follow up on quotes for materials, equipment, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Prepares price comparison tables and takeoff.
* Assists in the preparation of proposals for different project sectors, ensuring that the required documents are complete before delivery.
* Update databases of suppliers, materials, and historical costs.
* Properly file documentation related to estimates and tenders.
* Participates in department meetings and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
* Complies with the policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Maintains confidentiality of technical, commercial and financial information related to projects.
* Supports in the quantification of materials and preparation of worksheets under the supervision of the staff of the Estimates Department.

*Experience*

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
* Minimum of (2) years of experience in construction, estimates, purchasing, or related functions.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
* Knowledge of estimation programs, reading plans, BlueBeam or any other estimating platform will be valued.
* Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans.
* Demonstrated ability in cost management including material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and budget estimation for large-scale projects.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis and reporting.
* Knowledge of construction estimating best practices for commercial projects including cost control techniques and material requirement estimation from blueprints.
