Estimator Coordinator

As an Estimator Coordinator at Locke Solutions, you will play a vital role in supporting our estimating team by coordinating and facilitating the bid preparation process for construction projects. Your responsibilities will include gathering project information, conducting quantity take-offs, soliciting quotes from subcontractors and vendors, and preparing bid documents. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, update, and coordinate new bid assignments; establish bid due dates by communicating with Sales, Estimating Manager, Customers, or Bid Services within 24 hours.
• Develop and maintain a high-level technical understanding of bid reviews, including scope criteria and project requirements, to effectively brief Estimators.
• Verify and obtain minimum design criteria and pre-bid documents from Customers/Sales in advance to support on-time quote delivery.
• Coordinate with the Estimating Manager and Sales Manager to establish scope criteria and sales strategy.
• Manage and maintain the approved Sub-Supplier list and Locke Solutions’ CRM system.
• Gain and apply product knowledge and understanding of application processes.
• Assist in preparing quote estimates (up to $500K) for review and approval.
• Support bid package preparation; manage and collect quotes from vendors and suppliers as required.
• Act as liaison between Sales/Customers and the Estimating Team to provide timely bid status updates.
• Process and manage small orders, standard products, and modified standard products that do not require Project Management or Engineering support.

SUCCESSFUL RESULTS:

• Efficiently organizes documents required to quote projects for the estimating team.
• Actively engage in blueprint review sessions and seek opportunities to expand knowledge.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the Sales team and provide timely updates on project statuses.
• Efficiently perform potential project take-offs by using construction drawings, specifications, and project-related documents.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
• Develop understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-3 years Coordinating/Administrative experience.
• Comfortable with numbers and technology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally.
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Great attention to detail, well organized, and reliable.
• Experience & Conceptual knowledge of reading plans, specifications. (Desired)
• Bachelor’s degree in construction science or relevant field (Desired).
