Estimator

Ventec Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including new construction, renovations, design-build opportunities, and government contracts. This position works closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to develop comprehensive proposals that support the company's growth and profitability.

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations for commercial HVAC systems.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and budget forecasts.
• Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
• Identify potential project risks and opportunities during the estimating process.
• Coordinate with project management and operations teams during project handoff.
• Maintain estimating databases, vendor relationships, and historical cost information.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative system recommendations.
• Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and customer requirements.

Ability to work both in office and field environments, including sitting for extended periods of 5–8 hours per day in a jobsite trailer while performing administrative, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination duties. Must also be able to walk and navigate active construction sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and confined spaces, while working in varying weather conditions. Requires the ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25–50 pounds. Must be able to wear required PPE, perform detailed visual inspections, communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and respond quickly to changing project conditions and jobsite emergencies.
