Estimator – Structural Steel

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating, specifically within Structural Steel projects, and be comfortable working with drawings, takeoffs, and project calculations. This role requires strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency using Bluebeam and other estimating tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for Structural Steel projects.
• Utilize Bluebeam software for markups, measurements, and document management.
• Analyze labor, material, and production costs to develop competitive estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing and technical information.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and project records.
• Assist in bid preparation and proposal submissions.
• Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in estimating, construction, or related field.
• Experience or knowledge in Structural Steel projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam software required.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills beyond basic square footage calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related educational background.
• Experience working with U.S.-based construction projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of additional estimating software is an advantage.
• English proficiency preferred for communication with international teams.
