European Sales Manager – Energy Offtake Solutions

Posted
Discussion

Galileo is a fast-growing renewable energy developer, investor and operator, currently in the very dynamic start-up phase. Our mission is to make a meaningful contribution to the European renewable energy transition.

Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 17 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind and storage projects across nine markets in Europe. As our portfolio and presence across Europe grows, so does our impact. We care about making that impact positive, and in achieving our business goals in a sustainable way.

This year, Galileo completed its transition to Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Italy, our first market for owned operating assets, with the ambition to extend this model to other key European markets in the coming years.

We are looking for our new European Sales Manager – Energy Offtake Solutions, who will originate, negotiate and secure a broad range of energy offtake solutions for Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects with utilities and corporate customers across Galileo's active European markets, with priority focus on Italy. This is a sales-first role: we are looking for someone with a genuine commercial mindset and a track record of selling energy through diverse solutions. This person will be based in Milan (possibility of hybrid remote working), reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.

What you’ll do:

  • Segment potential utilities and corporate customer groups, develop business relationships and propose appropriate commercial structures & marketing plans across both segments.
  • Proactively scout the market to identify and target potential offtakers, with priority focus on Italy and, as key secondary markets, Germany, UK, Poland and, Ireland. Evaluate requests for proposals, lead bid preparation, prepare competitive analysis.
  • Identify the most effective offtake products to place in each target market — including PPAs, storage offtake and flexibility/ancillary services solutions — building relationships with clients to understand which solutions work best in the key markets above, factoring in market competition and evolving regulation.
  • Lead the negotiation and origination of offtake deals, working closely with Galileo's legal team and relevant departments (development, M&A, technical, pricing) who provide contractual and cross-functional support throughout the process.
  • Interface directly with Galileo's local Business Development directors to align origination efforts with the broader development strategy in each country.
  • Develop clear and effective processes and ways of working across all activities within the offtake origination function.
  • Participate in relevant industry conferences and other events to foster the knowledge of Galileo as an industry leader.

Requirements

What you’ll need:

  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in the renewable energy sector and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a sales role focused on energy offtake agreements (PPAs and beyond). Specific experience in the Italian market is a priority requirement.
  • Strong commercial/hunter mindset with a demonstrated ability to originate and close deals with utility and corporate clients.
  • Excellent communication skills — not only in presenting and negotiating, but in actively listening to clients to understand their specific needs and translate them into tailor-made solutions.
  • Well-established relationships with utility and corporate customers and offtake advisors in the EU renewable energy sector.
  • Comfortable attending offtake events both at the regional, national and local levels.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Economics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to take on broad and varied challenges and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

Benefits

What we offer:

  • Competitive compensation: 90,000 – 120,000 € gross annual total compensation package, composed of fixed gross annual salary (RAL) and annual performance bonus, based on experience, skills and role responsibilities.

  • Comprehensive healthcare screening and healthcare insurance.
  • Flexibility: a hybrid remote-working policy designed for autonomy and outcomes — plus a strong Diversity & Inclusion focus to support different needs and life situations.
  • Growth: continuous learning & development opportunities and a supportive environment that fosters initiative and ownership.
  • You'll play an active role in Galileo's renewable energy developments, contributing to projects that support the energy transition and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • International environment: you’ll collaborate with colleagues across Europe and thrive in an informal culture that values collaboration, ownership, and innovation.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion: Galileo is a new and flexible employer, committed to providing equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for all. We encourage everyone who applies to emphasize what their passion, skills and mindset can bring to our company. In return we commit to evaluating your application fairly and objectively. This is the case no matter your race, gender identity, sexuality, age, family or civil status, disability, religion, or ethnicity.
