JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Event AV Support staff provide technical audio-visual assistance for meetings, conferences, performances, and special events booked through the Event & Hospitality Services department. This position focuses on the setup, operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of audio-visual and presentation systems to ensure successful event execution.
  • Provide on-site audio-visual support for meetings, conferences, and special events requiring technical assistance.
  • Set up, test, and operate audio-visual equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, laptops, presentation systems, and video conferencing equipment.
  • Perform pre-event system checks to verify audio levels, video signal routing, presentation playback, and overall system functionality.
  • Assist presenters, speakers, and clients with microphones, presentations, and technology usage prior to and during events.
  • Monitor live events to maintain proper audio levels, clear video projection, and smooth technical operation.
  • Troubleshoot basic A/V issues quickly and professionally while minimizing disruption to events.
  • Coordinate with Event Crew and Event Crew Leads to ensure room setups align with technical requirements.
  • Assist with installation, strike, and proper storage of A/V equipment following events.
  • Maintain organization and care of audio-visual equipment, cables, and accessories.
  • Follow established signal flow, equipment handling procedures, and University Center operational standards.
  • Communicate technical concerns, equipment malfunctions, or event issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Provide professional customer service while interacting with presenters, clients, and guests.
  • Maintain awareness of event schedules, technical needs, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Support video conferencing and hybrid events as assigned.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including cable management, equipment transport, and proper lifting techniques.
  • Always represent Colorado Mesa University in a professional manner.
  • Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events.
