Event Manager – Arenas (12-month maternity cover)
The NEC is looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our dynamic team. Our mission is to create unforgettable experiences through world-class events and services at the Nation’s Experience Capital.
We have a fantastic opening for an experienced Event Manager to join our Arenas team for 12 months to cover maternity.
You’ll be working across two of the UK's top 10 arenas which hold over 200 events and welcome 1.5 million fans every year. Based in Birmingham City Centre and on the NEC Campus in Solihull, you'll be part of a team that welcomes people to a wide variety of events – from concerts and comedy to sporting and family events… No two days are ever the same!
About The Role
This role will plan and deliver a variety of concerts and events within the Arenas, as well as taking on responsibility for other event related projects as required.

About The Role
This role will plan and deliver a variety of concerts and events within the Arenas, as well as taking on responsibility for other event related projects as required.
Day to day you will…
- Deliver high-quality live events, ensuring clients’ requirements are met in line with the arenas policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate event planning and delivery, producing schedules and working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Act as Duty Manager (Silver Command) and Load-in Manager when required, supporting the safe and efficient operation of events.
About You
Our Ideal Candidate will…
- Proven experience delivering a diverse range of live events within large-scale arena or venue environments.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Strong knowledge of event operations, including crowd management, emergency procedures, venue compliance and health & safety requirements.
- Understanding of event logistics and/or technical production, ensuring seamless event delivery from planning through to execution.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues and industry partners.
