The Event Security Coordinator plays a key leadership role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, athletes, and partners at Charlotte Sports Park. This position performs lead-worker functions associated with the planning, coordination, and oversight of event security operations, including security and safety, crowd management, customer service, and other event-related activities.
The Event Security Coordinator develops and executes staff schedules, coordinates daily assignments, communicates with contractual partners and internal teams, and provides direction and support to assigned event security personnel. The position helps ensure security operations are carried out effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established procedures and facility expectations.
In addition to overseeing event security operations, this position serves as a visible representative of Charlotte Sports Park and is expected to provide exceptional customer service while responding professionally to guests, staff, vendors, and partners. The coordinator must be able to assess situations, communicate clearly, resolve concerns, and help maintain a positive and safe event experience.Administrative responsibilities include supporting internal office operations, maintaining appropriate documentation and communications, coordinating staffing needs, and assisting with event preparation and follow-up.
The ideal candidate is a dependable and proactive leader who understands security operations, works well in a fast-paced event environment, communicates effectively, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Work may be performed during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule. Duties are generally performed in accordance with established policies and procedures, with additional direction provided for unusual or complex situations.
Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey
- Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- One (1) year of experience in providing supervisory-level security services to professional athletes, dignitaries, Major League Baseball executives, or other high profile personnel
- Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education, and experience.
Licenses and/or Certificates: Possession and maintenance of a Class D or higher Security License (State of Florida) preferred. Education & Credentials That Power This Role
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to facility and grounds admission, events, operating hours, emergency and operating procedures.
- Knowledge of the physical location and lay-out of facilities within the grounds and buildings patrolled.
- Skill in detecting problems and unsafe situations and ability to report information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to provide fan-friendly customer service to all park patrons inclusive of internal partners, guests, and sponsors.
- Ability to demonstrate professional behavior in the presence of famous or high profile individuals.
- Ability to act in emergency situations and to notify assigned personnel of safety and emergency issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness, tact, and professionalism in solving problems.
- Ability to ascertain priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns with tact and courtesy, including the ability to effectively diffuse conflicts and issues referred by subordinate personnel; ability to physically escort unruly fans out of the facility if and when required.
- Ability to plan, direct, organize, oversee and evaluate the work of assigned personnel.
- Ability to work late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, possibly during inclement, hot or cold weather.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions; good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly via a two-way radio or other wireless device as assigned.
- Ability to accurately maintain basic records and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including the ability to effectively lead a team or work unit. Extra Details You Should Know
Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed outdoors and may be exposed to inclement weather, irate customers, extreme noise, heights and/or dust.
Risk/Safety Conditions: Some risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety associated with this position.
Essential Physical Activities: Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, and depth perception. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
