Position Summary
Responsible for providing set-ups, breakdowns and food service to the guests at Chevy Chase events and (if 18 years or older) serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ensures that all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Wheeling Park District and Chevy Chase Country Club. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Essential Job Duties
• Assists in the set-ups and breakdowns for all events including the clean-up following the conclusion of all events.
• Assembles prepared food and drinks onto trays and transports trays out to be served. Serves the table. Before leaving the table, checks to see that everything served is satisfactory.
• Periodically checks back to ensure guest satisfaction; replenishing water, drink, bread and butter as needed and removes soiled dishes when guest is finished.
• Provides general service and attention to dining area, including keeping furnishings, wait stations and bus stations clean and organized.
• Provides constant high guest service at all times. Informs Event Captain or Event Manager of guest complaints and/or suggestions as soon as they occur.
• Consistently complies with all state, local and agency laws/policies regarding the sale and disposition of alcoholic beverages.
• Provides immediate attention to guests upon arrival.
• Collects and interprets all paperwork generated for the event being worked.
• Answers any questions from guests about the event and be able to provide descriptions of the day including the time line of the event and what food and beverage is available and being served.
• Assume other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with buffet set up/take down. Replenish food pans as needed during buffet service.
• Assist with food plate up in the kitchen when needed.
• Able to interpret an event contract and floor plan.
• Work as scheduled.
• Personal appearance conveys to the public a general impression of the facility. It is the responsibility of every employee to be properly attired and neatly groomed. Name tags and uniforms must be worn at all times.
• Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
• Participates in required training and safety programs as established by the Wheeling Park District.

• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
