** Background
Academic Services plays a key role in supporting the educational mission of City St George's, delivering professional, responsive and effective academic administration across the University. As Exams Manager, you will provide operational leadership for the delivery of centrally administered examinations, ensuring secure, fair and efficient assessment processes. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will lead a team responsible for examination delivery across multiple campuses while driving service excellence and continuous improvement.
** Responsibilities
Lead the planning and delivery of central examination operations across the University, ensuring compliance with academic regulations and governance requirements. Manage examination cycles, including scheduling, venue allocation, on-the-day management and invigilation arrangements. Provide leadership to the Exams team, oversee risk management and incident resolution, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver an excellent student experience. Contribute to service enhancement, reporting and operational performance monitoring.
** Person Specification
We are seeking an experienced higher education professional with substantial knowledge of examination processes, academic regulations and governance frameworks. You will have proven experience managing complex operational services and deadlines, leading and developing staff, and driving process improvements. Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills are essential, together with experience managing risk, implementing inclusive assessment arrangements and delivering customer-focused services.
