Examinations Officer Data Analyst

GEMS Cambridge International School, Abu Dhabi is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy professional to join our team as an examinations officer & academic data analyst for a May 2026 start. This dual-role position supports both internal school improvement through data analysis and the administration of external assessments.
Examinations officer – key responsibilities
- Oversee all external examinations (Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA, Oxford), ensuring full compliance with board requirements.
- Manage candidate registration, entry submissions, forecast grades, amendments, and withdrawals via online portals.
- Provide students with statements of entry, candidate IDs, and exam-related materials (digital and hard copies).
- Liaise with exam boards and represent the school at official meetings.
- Prepare detailed examination timetables for students, staff, and parents.
- Receive, check, and securely store confidential exam materials.
- Coordinate internal assessments and ensure proper administration of all exams.
- Access and distribute electronic results; handle post-results services and issue final certificates.
- Stay updated on annual exam board changes and implement them effectively.
- Draft and issue official letters (course completion, visa support, etc.) in response to student requests.
- Respond calmly and efficiently to any unforeseen issues during examination sessions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (teachers, heads of departments, IT, reception) for smooth exam operations.
Academic data & assessment coordinator
- Collect, manage, and analyze student achievement data to support school improvement and instructional planning.
- Generate reports from internal, national, and international assessments to identify trends and monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate data systems (SIMS/Phoenix), ensuring data integrity and security.
- Support teachers and leaders in interpreting assessment data; lead data literacy sessions and training.
- Design and produce clear, user-friendly data reports for staff.
- Input and transfer data accurately between assessment platforms.
Skills
Required qualifications, experience & skills:
- Degree in IT/Computer Science (B.E., MCA, M.Sc. preferred).
- Prior school experience in a British curriculum school is mandatory.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills; attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SIMS/Phoenix is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure, especially during exam periods.
- Team player with a service-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
