Excavation Site Support & Community Engagement Worker

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

1. Communicate with residents near the excavation area in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Notify residents at least one day in advance when work will be taking place in front of their homes.
3. Remind residents to have vehicles removed from their driveways before 7:00 a.m. on scheduled work days.
4. Answer basic questions from residents and direct any technical or project-specific questions to the appropriate supervisor.

Site & Traffic Support

1. Monitor vehicle movement around the active excavation area.
2. Help ensure vehicles can safely and efficiently pass through areas where work is taking place.
3. Coordinate the movement and order of dump trucks entering and leaving the work area.
4. This is not a flagging position; the primary responsibility is assisting with site organization and keeping traffic moving safely around active work.

Manual Labor

1. Sweep and shovel excess dirt, gravel, and debris from roadways and work areas.
2. Keep the immediate work area clean and organized.
3. Clean excess dirt and debris from dump truck tailgates before trucks leave the work area.
4. Assist the excavation crew with other reasonable light-duty tasks as needed.
5. Help maintain a professional appearance around the job site.
