Executive Assistant, UK, Germany and International Organisations Public Sector
Amazon Executive Assistant, UK, Germany and International Organisations Public Sector
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to join the AWS Worldwide Public Sector team, supporting two Directors within the UKGI PS organisation. This role is the operational backbone of a fast-moving leadership team that spans the UK, Germany, and international organisations.
The right candidate anticipates needs before they surface, takes decisive action with incomplete information, and holds themselves to a standard where every detail - from a travel itinerary to a board-level briefing pack - is accurate and timely. You will handle sensitive information with discretion, manage competing priorities without escalation, and represent the leadership team with professionalism across internal and external stakeholders.
This is not a back-office role. You will manage projects, drive operational cadence, and influence how the team spends its time. If you thrive on variety, take ownership of outcomes, and want a seat at the table in one of AWS’s most dynamic public sector teams, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
Own complex calendar management for two Directors, proactively resolving conflicts and protecting time for strategic priorities
Maintain a long-range planning calendar covering leadership reviews, customer engagements, and team milestones
Triage and action time-sensitive, confidential information on behalf of the leadership team
Plan and execute team operating rhythms: staff meetings, leadership offsites, all-hands, and social events - including agenda preparation and pre-read materials
Manage end-to-end event logistics (team offsites, customer visits, industry events), providing onsite support where required
Coordinate domestic and international travel: cost-effective flights, hotels, and ground transport with detailed itineraries that account for time-zone transitions
Submit expense reports promptly and manage discretionary budget and purchase order processes
Partner with recruiting, facilities, HR, and the wider EA community to ensure seamless cross-functional coordination
Consolidate briefing materials for country visits, large events, and executive engagements
Lead operational projects that improve how the UKGI PS organisation runs — e.g. onboarding processes, team communications, or rhythm-of-business improvements
Draft and edit communications on behalf of the Directors where appropriate
About the team
The UKGI PS team is part of AWS Worldwide Public Sector and serves government, healthcare, education, and non-profit customers across the UK, Germany, and international organisations. We operate where technology and public mission meet, helping institutions modernise critical services through cloud.
The team is London-based with a team in Germany and distributed footprint across Europe. We move fast, hold a high bar for delivery, and value people who bring both rigour and warmth to how they work.
