Your Role in Our Mission
As an Executive, Business Intelligence, you sit at the entry point of the engine that turns raw data into business decisions at NEXT Ventures. Every call leadership makes on product pricing, acquisition spend, or risk controls is only as good as the numbers behind it, and this role supports the Analytics team in pulling, validating, and reporting those numbers. It's where an analytics career starts in earnest: writing real SQL against real revenue, learning how unit economics actually work in a scaling fintech, and building the discipline to catch numbers that don't add up before they reach a decision-maker.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Measuring What's True
Support the team in applying consistent metric definitions across business lines, including revenue, cost ratios, conversion, and cohort economics.
Help build cohort and accrual-basis analysis under the guidance of senior analysts, learning why a cost ratio in a lagging-cost business is a maturity curve rather than a monthly snapshot.
Reconcile ad-hoc analysis against the canonical metric layer before results are shared.
Explaining Why It Changed
Learn to decompose movements in blended metrics into rate, mix, and volume effects.
Support investigations into unit-economics anomalies by mapping which cohort, product, or rule change is driving the movement.
Run base-rate checks before flagging anomalies as incidents.
Defending the Data
Treat silent failures as the primary risk. Verify before you report, especially when the answer is zero or unexpectedly clean.
Respect status flags, soft-deletes, and review states in every piece of analysis.
Classify records from the authoritative reference tables rather than through name matching.
Turning It Into a Decision
Support the preparation of analysis for senior, non-technical readers. Learn to structure findings so the answer comes first, revenue implication second, evidence third, methodology last.
Separate finding from recommendation explicitly in every piece of work.
Support senior analysts in sizing opportunities before proposing levers such as pricing, caps, or product-mix changes.
Watching the Market
Maintain competitive intelligence using official sources only, drawn from a competitor's own site and documentation.
Ensure comparisons match the correct product line, like for like, never across product categories.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
0 to 2 years of experience in analytics, BI, data operations, or a related field. Strong academic projects, internships, freelance analytics work, or bootcamp certifications are welcome in place of formal experience.
Comfort working with numbers, structured data, and spreadsheets, with a natural instinct to check whether results make sense before sharing them.
Basic understanding of unit-economics concepts such as revenue, cost, conversion, and cohorts, either through coursework, self-study, or prior exposure.
Clear written communication in English, with the ability to explain findings without jargon.
Fluency in modern analytical tools, including AI-assisted analysis, is expected. What matters more is the judgment to know when an AI-generated answer is wrong.
Familiarity with fintech, brokerage, subscriptions, gaming, or marketplaces is a strong plus.
Your X-Factor
You treat every number like it might be wrong until you've checked it yourself. A result of zero makes you curious, not comfortable.
You're genuinely interested in how businesses actually make money, not just in the technical craft of producing analysis.
You ask questions when you don't understand something, rather than guessing and hoping the output is right.
You bring reliability to small tasks. If a report is due Monday morning, it's finished and reconciled Friday afternoon.
