We are looking for a passionate, experienced and hands-on Executive Chef to join our team at Scalabrini Bexley Village.
Working closely with the Village Leadership Team, you will lead our food services function and oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. You will play an important role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our residents, ensuring food is prepared to a high standard while reflecting their individual preferences, dietary needs and choices.
You will be responsible for:

Leading, supporting and developing the food services team to deliver high-quality meals and exceptional customer service.
Planning, preparing and presenting a variety of nutritious and appealing meals for residents.
Creating menus that reflect residents’ individual preferences, cultural backgrounds and dietary requirements.
Working collaboratively with the care team to support residents with complex dietary, nutrition and hydration needs.
Managing the day-to-day operations of the commercial kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared and served safely, efficiently and on time.
Managing food ordering, stock control, stock rotation, receipting of deliveries and kitchen budgets.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety legislation, HACCP principles and Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
Being a hands-on leader who is comfortable cooking and supporting the team during busy service periods.

The successful applicant will display:

A genuine passion for food and creating exceptional food experiences.
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a commercial kitchen.
Previous experience in menu planning, ordering systems and managing kitchen budgets.
Sound knowledge of NSW food safety legislation, HACCP principles and Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
The ability to cook, plan, prepare and present meals to a high standard and within required timeframes.
A strong commitment to person-centred care, quality, safety and customer service excellence.

Desirable:

Experience managing a commercial kitchen in an aged care or health services environment.
