Executive Director Financial Operations

Principal advisor to the Office of Health, Chief Financial Officer and other key officials within the Department of Veterans Affairs on matters pertaining to the enterprise organizations responsible for financial accounting, financial quality, managerial cost accounting, and VISN financial operations supporting the Veterans Health Administration. The position will be responsible for ensuring standardized, compliant, and effective financial management that supports VA's mission.

Responsible for all matters pertaining to field-level financial operations, including audit coordination and quality assurance, financial accounting controls oversight, financial policy implementation and compliance, and managerial cost accounting. Ensures uniform execution of Federal and VA regulations, laws, directives, and standards as they relate to financial systems and operations across VHA's health care delivery network. Reviews internal and external audits and develops corrective actions, working with stakeholders to correct areas that may develop into a material weakness. Oversees the integration of accounting, cost accounting, obligations accounting and budgetary information to recommend complete, reliable information for data driven decision-making.
