The Department of Mathematics is now seeking a highly motivated person to provide administrative support to the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and organise activities/events hosted by the Programmes and the Department;
  • Handle visitors’ administration, including visa arrangements, contracts, accommodation, hospitality, and other related tasks;
  • Assist with departmental colloquiums, seminars, workshops, distinguished lectures, symposia, and other related activities;
  • Provide administrative support to the Programmes and the Department; and
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Programme Directors and the Department Head.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree with at least 2 years of relevant and solid work experience, preferably in higher education institutions;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Meticulousness, good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility;
  • Being self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team; and
  • Proficiency in common office applications, such as MS Office including Chinese document processing.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
