Executive Officer
The position is located in the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Office of the Assistant Secretary (OAS). The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a key resource and liaison for ODEP executive leadership on administrative and program operations, opportunities, and policies. The position reports to the Deputy Assistant Secretary. This position is outside the bargaining unit.
Participates actively with executives and their key staff in significant management planning, policy, and decision-making sessions. Analyzes issues, goals, and initiatives. Recommends options during exploratory and formative stages of managerial planning and policy formulation. Serves as liaison with DOL officials to ensure that the objectives of the Assistant Secretary are understood, that problems are resolved, that materials prepared for the use and/or approval of the Assistant Secretary by ODEP staff meet the requirements, and that deadlines are adhered to and/or delay anticipated. Assists in planning and managing the execution of complex program analysis and evaluation studies of operations, programs, and management. Assist ODEP's research team in designing the methodologies and techniques for analyzing and evaluating the programs, operations, and management. Assists the executive staff as the ongoing liaison with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congressional staff, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the policy officials of the General Services Administration (GSA). Serves as a consultant and provides technical assistance and management support for key administrative and workforce development programs or several complex program areas. Analyzes and evaluates on a quantitative/qualitative basis the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
