Executive Placement

The Placement Executive will facilitate suitable employment, apprenticeship and internship opportunities for learners completing NIIT Foundation’s skill-development programmes. The role involves employer engagement, opportunity sourcing, learner preparation, interview coordination, placement documentation and post-placement tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Engagement

  • Identify and engage employers, recruitment agencies and industry partners aligned with the programmes offered.

  • Develop a pipeline of suitable job, apprenticeship and internship opportunities.

  • Conduct employer visits and present NIIT Foundation’s training programmes and learner profiles.

  • Understand employers’ workforce requirements, eligibility criteria, selection processes, compensation and workplace conditions.

  • Build long-term relationships with employers and obtain feedback on placed learners.

  • Maintain an updated database of employers, contacts and opportunities.

  • Ensure that employers and opportunities are appropriately verified before candidates are referred.

Opportunity Assessment

  • Obtain complete job descriptions and verify role responsibilities, location, working hours, salary, incentives and employment terms.

  • Assess whether opportunities are safe, lawful and appropriate for the learners.

  • Check for unreasonable deposits, recruitment fees, misleading salary claims or discriminatory conditions.

  • Clearly communicate employment terms to candidates before obtaining their consent to participate.

  • Escalate questionable employment practices or unsafe working conditions.

Learner Preparation

  • Assess learners’ placement readiness in coordination with trainers and centre teams.

  • Conduct employability sessions covering resumes, interviews, workplace communication, grooming and professional conduct.

  • Support learners in preparing accurate resumes and professional profiles.

  • Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Counsel learners on job roles, career pathways, compensation, relocation and workplace expectations.

  • Provide additional support to candidates facing confidence, communication or access barriers.

Placement Coordination

  • Match eligible learners with suitable opportunities based on their skills, interests and location preferences.

  • Share learner profiles with employers after obtaining the required consent.

  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, job fairs, employer visits and recruitment drives.

  • Inform candidates about schedules, documents, dress expectations and selection procedures.

  • Track attendance, selection results, offers, joining and early-stage retention.

  • Coordinate with candidates and employers to resolve joining-related concerns.

  • Ensure that placement claims are supported by valid documentary evidence.

Post-Placement Tracking

  • Follow up with placed learners and employers according to the prescribed schedule.

  • Verify joining, continued employment, compensation and role details.

  • Identify reasons for non-joining, early exits or job dissatisfaction.

  • Provide counselling and appropriate intervention to improve retention.

  • Document learner career progression and placement success stories.

  • Share recurring employer or learner concerns with the programme team.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of employers, vacancies, interviews, offers, joining and retention.

  • Update prescribed placement trackers or management-information systems promptly.

  • Collect and verify offer letters, appointment letters, joining confirmations, salary evidence and other required documents.

  • Submit placement and retention reports within defined timelines.

  • Maintain candidate consent and protect personal information shared with employers.

  • Support programme reviews, audits and donor or client reporting.

Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with trainers, mobilizers, centre teams and project managers on batch readiness and placement plans.

  • Share current employer requirements with trainers so that learning interventions can address identified skill gaps.

  • Participate in project reviews and present placement progress, challenges and action plans.

  • Work with programme teams to organise employer interactions, exposure visits and industry sessions.

  • Support alumni engagement and referral initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Number and quality of active employer partnerships.

  • Number of verified opportunities generated.

  • Percentage of eligible learners participating in placement activities.

  • Interview-to-offer and offer-to-joining conversion rates.

  • Placement rate against programme targets.

  • Post-placement retention rate.

  • Average time taken to place eligible learners.

  • Accuracy and completeness of placement evidence.

  • Employer and learner satisfaction.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of reports.

Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Social Work or a related discipline.

  • A postgraduate qualification or certification in HR, recruitment or career counselling is desirable.

Experience

  • Two to four years of experience in placement, recruitment, employer engagement, staffing, business development or skill-development programmes.

  • Experience placing entry-level candidates or youth from underserved communities is preferred.

  • Familiarity with retail, IT-enabled services, banking, logistics, hospitality, data analytics or other relevant sectors will be an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Strong employer-engagement and relationship-management abilities.

  • Understanding of recruitment processes and entry-level employment markets.

  • Effective counselling, negotiation, presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to evaluate job descriptions and match candidates with suitable roles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, job portals and digital reporting systems.

  • Strong documentation, data-management and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage recruitment drives and multiple stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel for employer meetings and recruitment activities.

  • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of the local language is desirable.
