Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and Executive – Underwriting & Placement to oversee the evaluation of corporate risks and the placement of insurance coverage with leading insurers. In this role, you will drive the underwriting process for various corporate insurance products (e.g., Property & Casualty, Liability, Group Health, and specialized lines), negotiate with insurers, and ensure optimal coverage terms. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, proven market relationships, and a track record in underwriting or broking for corporate clients.

- Establish and refine standardized underwriting procedures, checklists, and best practices.

- Lead or mentor junior underwriters or analysts, providing training and performance feedback.

- Participate in high-level client discussions, especially for complex risk presentations or negotiations.

Key Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in corporate insurance underwriting, placement, or broking, with a focus on risk evaluation and insurer negotiations.
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of underwriting principles, tariffs, policy wordings, and various insurance lines (Property, Liability, Group Health, etc.).
- Market & Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of IRDAI guidelines and compliance requirements; strong industry connections with leading insurers.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in evaluating claims data, financial statements, and risk profiles to determine coverage requirements.
- Advanced MS Office Proficiency: Skilled in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
- Negotiation & Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to negotiate coverage terms and cultivate strong partnerships with insurers.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for engaging with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
