Job Description: The Senior Chronic Disease Therapist will be responsible for intake assessment, functional evaluation, physical conditioning programs, and education for patients with chronic disease. In conjunction with the Manager, the incumbent will design, direct, organize and operate exercise programs for the First Step, Cardiac and Pulmonary programs. The Senior Chronic Disease Therapist is responsible for the overall organization of the active phase of the program. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience

  • Two (2) years experience in the specific department/area/program

Education

  • Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin)

Licenses

  • Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED)
  • Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology - Certified Exercise Physiologist

Competencies

  • Advanced - Communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to change
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge in applicable tools and equipment
  • Ability to identify cardiac arrhythmias and ECG abnormalities
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
