User Experience Researchers Pte.Ltd Experience & Interface Designer / UX Researcher and Service Designer
Summary
A designer-researcher role at a Singapore UX consultancy working with public-sector users: plan and run discovery research and usability testing, then design end-to-end UX/UI, prototypes, and design systems in Figma, and present findings to product, engineering, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
User Research & Discovery
- Plan and conduct discovery research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points faced by public officers across organisations.
- Design and run usability testing sessions to validate concepts and iterate on designs.
- Plan and facilitate surveys, workshops, and other participatory research methods to gather insights at scale.
- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and communicate them clearly to product and engineering teams.
UX & UI Design
- Design end-to-end user experiences, covering information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI.
- Design interactions that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with both user needs and business objectives.
- Contribute to and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across products.
- Balance user needs, technical constraints, and policy requirements when making design decisions.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Present design work and research findings to a range of stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and senior stakeholders.
- Translate complex requirements and feedback into a clear design direction.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure designs are feasible and well-implemented.
Prototyping
- Build interactive prototypes to communicate design intent, using Figma prototypes.
- Effective use of components and design system libraries within prototypes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of product design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates strong user research skills alongside polished UX and UI work.
- Research expertise. You know how to plan studies, choose the right methods, facilitate sessions, and turn findings into design decisions.
- Strong UI and interaction design skills. You can take a concept from rough wireframes through to pixel-level, production-ready designs.
- Comfort with ambiguity and context switching. You can move between different products and problem spaces, and ramp up quickly.
- Clear communication skills. You can articulate design rationale to technical and non-technical audiences, and hold your own in conversations with senior stakeholders.
- User-centric mindset with pragmatism. You advocate for the user while understanding business goals, technical feasibility, and organisational constraints.
- Proficiency in Figma and FigJam as core design and collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices (WCAG) and responsible AI design principles.
Nice to Have
- Experience with frontend development (e.g., HTML/CSS, React).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (vibe coding) for rapid prototyping and idea validation.
- Motion graphics and visual/graphic design skills (e.g., After Effects, Lottie), including the ability to produce animations and micro-interactions that enhance product experiences.
- Experience extending visual design work to communication and marketing materials.
