The company is currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join their team on a
permanent full time basis.
The Position…
Working in their Carole Park facility,
you will work alongside the operational team to assist in a range of welding
and fabrication tasks relating to industrial packaging equipment/processes. The
expected hours of work are Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3pm. Some overtime
working opportunities will also be available.
Further
duties include:
- Interpret
blueprints, relevant drawings, and specifications
- Weld, manipulate
and fit metal parts to equipment and machinery- manufacture Jigs for production
line
- Assists in repair
of woodworking machinery, in-feed/out-feed systems and hand tools in accordance
with diagrams, operating manuals and manufacturer specifications
- Use cutting and
shaping tools to produce parts which will be welded to the equipment or
machinery
- Assist in the
continuous improvement of respective equipment and machinery
- Work in
association with contractors and other trade professionals where required
- Follow all
relevant workplace health and safety guidelines
- Perform routine
maintenance to machinery
- Assist in general
facility maintenance and shutdown/project work
The Ideal Candidate…
You will
possess the following skills and experience:
- Mechanical trade
background in Fitting and Turning / Mechanical Fitter / Fitter and Welder
(highly desirable)
- Proficient in
welding (particularly MIG or stick welding), including safety procedures
- Have the
capability to read and interpret drawings
- Ability to use
hand and power tools including welders, grinders, and drills in a safe manner
- Working knowledge
of electrical pneumatic and control technology (desirable but not essential)
- Proficiency in
preventative and reactive maintenance
- Clear and logical
thinker with strong fabrication skills
- Problem solving
and analytical skills
- Strong attention
to detail
- Knowledge of
relative safety standards and willingness to support on ad-hoc activities
- Team player and
goal-oriented
- Have the ability
to work autonomously when required
- Physically fit
