This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Experienced GovCon Business Development professional based in the United States.

This opportunity is designed for an experienced government-contracting professional looking to build a new career or extend their expertise in the GovCon sector.
You’ll work directly with senior leadership to identify prospective customers, partners, and business opportunities.
The role combines business development, opportunity qualification, proposal support, recruiting coordination, and administrative responsibilities.
You’ll monitor government forecasts and upcoming requirements to identify viable opportunities and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
Your understanding of government environments will help assess requirements, shape partnerships, and support successful contract pursuits.
The position offers a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment where initiative, communication, and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
This is a remote-friendly, part-time opportunity with the potential to leverage your government experience in a new professional direction.

Accountabilities

  • Report directly to senior company leadership and support business development initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify and cultivate new customers and clients through engagement with command leadership and other government stakeholders.
  • Review government forecast lists to identify upcoming opportunities and assess their feasibility.
  • Engage potential partners and subcontractors to develop relationships around relevant government contracting opportunities.
  • Analyze and break down solicitation or contract requirements to determine feasibility, capabilities, and potential approaches.
  • Support the onboarding of new professionals for various government contracts.
  • Assist with the development, preparation, and refinement of competitive proposals designed to support successful contract pursuits.
  • Complete administrative and operational tasks as required to support business development and contract activities.
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships through phone, email, and in-person communication.
  • Apply government contracting knowledge and professional judgment to help identify practical growth opportunities.
  • Stay adaptable and develop familiarity with new tools, processes, and technologies, including AI-enabled business tools.
  • Requirements

    • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with government contracting (GovCon) environments.
    • Previous experience or professional background within the Department of War or a comparable government environment is strongly aligned with the opportunity.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
    • Familiarity with using AI tools to support research, productivity, communication, or business-development activities.
    • Strong verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating by telephone and in person with senior stakeholders.
    • Excellent written communication skills, particularly professional email communication.
    • Ability to evaluate government requirements, assess opportunity feasibility, and communicate findings clearly.
    • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
    • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new processes, technologies, and business-development approaches.
    • U.S. citizenship and prior government-contracting experience are relevant to the application process.
    • An active or recently active security clearance is beneficial and may be relevant depending on the opportunities supported.
