Expert Data Engineer (Snowflake, DBT)

Summary

Build and maintain a modern data platform for a Nordic bank using Snowflake and DBT, creating trusted data pipelines that feed AI solutions for customer-facing teams.

Salary: 1200 - 1450 PLN/day on B2B

Work model: remote or hybrid from Warsaw / Łódź / Gdańsk / Gdynia (2/3 days per week from the office)

Project

Join a strategic greenfield initiative focused on creating a modern data platform that will provide trusted, high-quality data for AI solutions used by customer-facing banking teams. You will work within a distributed Polish-Scandinavian team that values autonomy, open communication, and strong engineering judgment, where constructive challenge is just as important as collaboration.

Responsibilities you'll have

  • Design, build, and maintain a modern enterprise data platform in the banking domain

  • Develop and optimize data transformation processes using DBT and Snowflake

  • Create and manage scalable, reliable, and high-performing data pipelines

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and availability across the platform

  • Support the delivery of trusted data for AI-driven solutions used by customer advisors

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders across Poland and Scandinavia

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development, deployment, and operational processes

  • Manage and enhance CI/CD workflows and data platform DevOps practices

  • Participate in solution design and technical decision-making

  • Work autonomously within a highly collaborative team environment with a high degree of ownership and flexibility

  • Mentor team members and promote engineering best practices across the organization

Expected competences and knowledge

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles

  • Strong hands-on experience with DBT (critical requirement)

  • Proven expertise in Snowflake and modern cloud-based data platforms

  • Extensive experience in data transformation, modelling, and building scalable data pipelines

  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and data pipeline management

  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and best engineering practices

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to challenge requirements constructively and advocate for sound technical decisions

  • Team-oriented mindset with experience working in distributed, international environments

  • Fluency in English
