Principal Java Developer (Banking)

Salary range: 155-205 PLN/H

What will you do?

Join a team responsible for developing enterprise-grade Java applications supporting critical business processes. You will design, develop, and test scalable solutions, participate in architecture discussions and code reviews, and build modern applications based on event-driven architecture. The role requires a solid understanding of how applications operate in Kubernetes environments and how to effectively design services using Kafka.

Your tasks

• Design and develop enterprise-level Java applications
• Implement scalable, maintainable and resilient software solutions
• Develop event-driven services using Apache Kafka
• Design Java applications that effectively leverage key Kubernetes capabilities
• Create and maintain applications based on Spring Framework and Hibernate
• Design and develop integrations using JMS
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Write unit and integration tests using TDD and BDD practices
• Analyse and resolve complex application and integration issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and application delivery

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial experience with Java development
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework
• Experience with Hibernate
• Good understanding of event-driven architecture and hands-on experience developing applications using Apache Kafka
• Understanding of Kafka concepts from a software engineering perspective, including designing services that efficiently produce and consume events and analysing application-related issues
• Good understanding of Kubernetes and experience designing Java applications to run effectively in Kubernetes environments
• Understanding of key Kubernetes concepts relevant to application development and deployment
• Knowledge of JMS
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Experience with Git
• Understanding of TDD and BDD methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience with software design and development best practices
• Experience with cloud-based solutions
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with performance optimisation
• Experience with CI/CD and application delivery processes
• Experience working with distributed systems
• Openness to work hybrid from our client's office (Kraków) 3 days a week
