Export Control Manager

The Digital Intelligence business is pleased to announce this internal progression and development opportunity due to an internal promotion within the team.

As the Export Control Manager, you will be a helping DI build and develop its compliance environment. You will be mainly using your specialist US export control knowledge to advise projects and support the implementation of the twelve Group Export Control procedures companywide. In addition, you will be learning to work with non-US/UK jurisdictions, dual-use and intangible exports for which training will be provided.

The role will also see you operate as deputy to the Head Of, with line management responsibility for a small team of 4. You will take on full line management and leadership responsibility, supporting the individual development of the team.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems due to exposure gained across multiple business areas.

Your main responsibilities as Export Control Manager will be to\:

· Operate as the main point of contact and subject matter expert in US export controls (ITAR/ EAR)

· Drive and lead various export control activities across DI.

· Develop implement and maintain the company’s export control compliance programme

· Deliver export control training to employees

· Champion continuous improvement activities to improve compliance, efficiency, and performance

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Experience directly within Export Control prove be highly advantageous. The role can consider backgrounds and experience from other teams or Functions, with the ability to evidence strong exposure to Export Control requirements and considerations.

· Line management experience including the development of team members would be advantageous although not essential. You would however be expected to demonstrate line leadership behaviours and possess the ability to quickly ‘get to grips’ with line leadership responsibilities.

· You should possess a strong customer focus and the ability to build relationships internally and externally as you will be liaising with external government regulators.

· Have a general interest in technology and its application to the business.

Location\: Flexible, UK. After an initial orientation period, the majority of the role can be undertaken remotely.
