Expressions of Interest: Head Coach, Basketball
Summary
Leads basketball coaching programs, designs practice plans, mentors coaches, and grows youth sports initiatives for a Hong Kong-based education organization.
ESF Explore is now inviting candidates to register their interest for the role of Head Coach, Basketball.
Responsibilities
Act as the main basketball head coach; implement, design practice plans, and run individual skill development sessions.
Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a team of basketball development coaches.
Develop After-School programs, tournaments, and experience camp trips to drive program occupancy and maximize brand strength.
Serve as the primary technical liaison; provide regular operational reports and build strong networks with local federations and schools.
Requirement
Degree in a related area to this position (Teaching, Sports management) desirable, but not a requirement.
A current certificate in coaching/teaching Basketball or equivalent.
5+ years of high standard basketball coaching experience.
NBA, G- League, WNBA, or NCAA experience (playing or coaching) is a major advantage.
3–5 years of experience creating and running large-scale youth clinics, grassroots camps, and sports initiatives
Abilities
Good organizational and planning (project management) skills
A confident and professional manner
Fluency in written and spoken English essential
Good verbal and written communication skills
Work and function within a team
Knowledge
Possess computer knowledge google workspace, and Microsoft 365.
FIBA rules and regulations.
Competencies
Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate others to develop a team of enthusiastic coaches
Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, ability groups, weather conditions and venue issues
A commitment to work unsocial hours
Willing and enthusiastic about continued professional development, education and training
