Exterior Design Lead

Exterior Design Lead — Funkit (fully remote, in-house, full-time, leadership role).

Funkit designs short-term rental properties that book faster and earn more. You mentor, guide, and develop the Exterior Design Team while maintaining the quality and consistency of their work. This role combines strong exterior design expertise with proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
- Mentor, guide, and develop the Exterior Design Team: confidence, design judgment, independence.
- Review work and give clear, actionable feedback.
- Maintain design standards and consistency across projects as volume grows.
- Anticipate challenges (site conditions, budget alignment, design execution) and support designers.
- Apply expertise in exterior design, spatial planning, functionality and guest experience to every review.
- Collaborate with the Creative Lead, Interior Lead and Managers.
- Contribute directly to design work.

Requirements:
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of 5+ people.
- Clear, actionable design direction in writing and on calls.
- Strong knowledge of exterior design, spatial planning, functionality, guest experience.
- Strong SketchUp skills to review models and guide refinements.
- Fluent English. Spanish is a plus (much of the design team is in Latin America).
- 2+ years hospitality design experience.
- 2+ years designing for the US market.

Logistics: in-house (not seasonal), fully remote, availability aligned to U.S. Central Time, computer that runs SketchUp on large models.
