Extraction Lab Technician – Missouri 23$

Position Summary

Black Fox Manufacturing is hiring an Extraction Lab Technician for our licensed cannabis manufacturing facility in Missouri. The role runs hydrocarbon (butane) and ethanol extraction and post-processing to produce consistent, compliant concentrates.

Responsibilities

Butane (hydrocarbon) extraction

• Operate closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction systems per SOP, including material loading, solvent recovery, and system purging
• Perform pre-run leak checks, pressure tests, and equipment inspections
• Run vacuum ovens and purge processes to meet residual solvent limits

Ethanol extraction

• Operate ethanol extraction equipment, including chilling, washing, filtration, and solvent recovery (rotary/falling film evaporators)
• Perform winterization, filtration, and solvent recovery steps
• Support distillation and post-processing as assigned

General lab duties

• Prepare and weigh input biomass and record all inputs, outputs, and yields
• Maintain accurate batch records and track inventory in METRC
• Follow C1D1/C1D2 safety protocols, PPE requirements, and solvent handling procedures
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain extraction equipment and lab areas to GMP standards
• Submit samples for testing and support DCR compliance and inspection readiness
• Report equipment issues, deviations, and safety concerns immediately

Qualifications

Required

• 21 years of age or older (Missouri cannabis industry requirement)
• Able to obtain and maintain a Missouri DCR agent ID badge
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Commitment to following SOPs and safety procedures without shortcuts

Recommended

• 1+ year of hands-on butane and/or ethanol extraction experience
• Familiarity with closed-loop systems, rotary evaporators, and vacuum ovens
• Experience with METRC or seed-to-sale tracking
• Lab, chemistry, or GMP manufacturing background

Physical requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Wear full PPE, including respirators, gloves, and cryo protection
• Work in a lab with flammable solvents, pressurized systems, and cold temperatures

Compensation & Schedule

• $23.00/hour
• Open schedule based on production needs
• Weekend availability required when production demands it
