Extracurricular Internship: Embedded Software Engineer - eBike (f/m/div.)

Your contribution to something big:

  • Develop and maintain software tools for early prototyping, R&D activities, embedded testing, and product certification.
  • Support the development and optimization of the embedded software toolchain, contributing to improved efficiency and productivity across the development process.
  • Create and enhance automation solutions, including scripts, build processes, and CI/CD workflows that support software development and industrialization.
  • Collaborate with international and cross-functional teams to develop user-friendly GUI and CLI applications for embedded systems and engineering activities.
  • Contribute to software quality and traceability by applying version control, documentation, artifact management, and modern development best practices.

What distinguishes you:

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Active involvement in academic projects, personal coding projects, or hardware hobbies is highly valued.
  • Know-how:
    • Good knowledge in C embedded software development.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages, particularly Python.
    • Basic understanding of Linux operating systems systems and their integration in the development process.
    • Basic understanding of low-level hardware concepts.
    • Experience with Hardware probing tools.
    • Exposure to basic communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
    • Ability to read basic hardware schematics or component datasheets.
    • Knowledge about toolchain development, including ARM GNU tools and CMake.
    • Understanding of electronic circuits and bare metal development.
  • Languages: Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Working Style and Personality: Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and curious. A proactive team player with good communication skills who is motivated by hardware-software integration.
