About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), U.S. Military Academy, West Point. Located in the scenic Hudson River valley, only 50 miles from New York City, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally-renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. The undergraduates, known as cadets, are commissioned as officers in the US Army upon graduation.
Custom tailor complete cadet garments to include full dress coat, dress coat, long overcoat and parka.
Construct and fit garments requiring close and accurate fit to the body dimensions of the cadet.
Read and interpret garment markings for alterations or repairs.
Repair various garments to include such operations as ripping out old stitching, cutting any new pieces of material, lining, stiffening, hand and machine sewing, pressing, shaping and marking for decorations, etc.
Operate sewing equipment to construct clothing/garments/apparel/uniform.
Work with a wide variety of fabrics and materials.
