Fabrication Designer

The positions efforts to ensure Structurlam’s Mass Timber products are designed to meet customer requirements, company objectives and jurisdictional building codes. This includes schedules, fit and finish, costs and ease of assembly to deliver outstanding projects. Deliverables include:

• Prepare and distribute 3D models and 2D shop drawings that are clean, accurate, and concise within the parameters of scope, quality, and schedule requirements within Cadwork software.
• Coordination of concept information, ensuring all information is properly tracker and stored in internal file systems and PROCORE.
• Providing necessary data for production in a clear and concise manner.
• Documentation of change orders and clear notifications to relevant parties for implications.
• Record project status and diaries for overall management integrations with the CTS Project Team.
• Follow established company standard operating procedures and drafting standards.
• Review and confirm estimates of the work hours required to complete assigned tasks. Provide current and regular status updates on how long projects or tasks will take to complete.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and assist to rectify any issues that may impact project quality, cost, or schedule.
• Provide IFF checking assistance of drawings and models of coworkers.
• Collaborate and problem solve issues with clients and other related project stakeholders while following the direction of the Project Manager who will direct the work of the project to keep it on its best course.
