Position Summary:
The Maintenance Fabrication Coordinator is a member of the Maintenance Team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Fabrication Coordinator’s primary purpose is to design, layout, and install new piping systems, while also coordinating and executing fabrication projects to ensure they meet production goals and stay within budget constraints. These responsibilities are in addition to repairing and installing production machinery and mechanical equipment. This pivotal role also involves planning and executing repairs, preventive maintenance, fabricating components to ensure the effective, efficient, and safe operation of machinery and processes within the industrial plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, lay out, fabricate, and install process and utility piping systems.
- Install, assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, steam, and basic electrical systems.
- Inspect machinery, process piping, and steam systems to identify signs of wear, malfunction, or failure through visual inspections, operational testing, and routine monitoring.
- Diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Perform emergency repairs on production equipment by replacing or repairing worn or damaged components.
- Operate hoists, cranes, rigging equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment to transport and position machinery.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and STICK welding, as well as oxyacetylene and plasma cutting, to fabricate and repair equipment and piping systems.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete fabrication, installation, and maintenance projects.
- Coordinate fabrication projects from planning through completion while meeting production schedules, budgets, and operational deadlines.
- Collaborate with production teams, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials, components, and project requirements are met.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency.
- Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all company safety policies and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
