The company is a well-established and dynamic company that delivers customised engineering solutions for the industrial, commercial, and government sectors. They specialise in the design and production of industrial-grade, custom-fabricated mild sheet metal and stainless steel products in their modern fabrication facility based in Sydney’s South Western suburbs. They have a highly skilled and trained team of professionals who work together to deliver projects across a diverse network throughout Sydney and regional NSW. With ongoing growth in their business, they are seeking to employ a full-time Fabricator to join the workshop team based in Prestons, NSW.


The Position…

The position is for an experienced and competent Fabricator to work in their fabrication workshop on a full-time basis. The role will require your involvement in day-to-day operations and tasks, including fabricating, cutting, assembling, and welding a range of items using various types of metals in a fast-paced environment.


Ideal Candidate…

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A trade Certificate III in either Fabrication / Boiler Making or similar.
  • Experience in fabricating / welding balustrades, handrails, beams, columns, and steel structures.
  • Comfortable working with different types of metals at various thicknesses.
  • Previous experience doing both light and heavy fabrication is highly desirable.
  • Min 6 years experience in a workshop environment, including structural steel weldments and sheet metal development.

In addition, you will have the following attributes:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the fabrication and welding process.
  • Highly skilled in various methods of welding including (but not limited to) MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW, etc.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding drawings.
  • Experience in bending sheet metal (desirable but not essential).
  • Able to follow instructions/fabrication requests.
  • Have attention to detail.
  • Can work at an acceptable pace, safely while producing quality work.
  • Quality workmanship.
  • Need to have fluent clear English.
