What you can expect:
A Facilities Preventative Maintenance I is responsible for the ongoing environmental services and the general maintenance of all Howard Brown Health buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Pay: $20.92/hour
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs daily building and isolation maintenance and cleaning of clinic rooms, as well as the interior and exterior of facilities including grounds keeping and snow removal.
- Performs minor building services such as replacing light bulbs and filters.
- Maintains facilities department supplies and performs inventory procedures at all buildings.
- Vacuums, sweeps, and mops floors.
- Performs carpet spot cleaning, as necessary.
- Performs continuous facilities walkthroughs to ensure a safe and clean environment for all and follows proper infection control policies.
- Collects and disposes of all trash, adhering to biohazard procedures and recycling.
- Performs special maintenance projects for all Howard Brown Health locations, as necessary.
- Collaborates with other facilities personnel on various projects.
- Provides excellent customer service and proactively interacts and communicates with staff.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in building cleaning and maintenance in a healthcare setting is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Valid and current U.S. driver’s license and access to a vehicle to drive to locations daily is required.
- Willingness and ability to work day, evening, and weekend hours is required.
- Ability to use healthcare-grade cleaning equipment and work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and safely use ladders and step stools.
- Ability to work in poor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel through inter-city streets and expressways.
- Ability to work in a shared working space.
- Willingness and desire to work with the LGBTQ community
