Facilities Coordinator
General Function:
Under the supervision of the assigned supervisor and in harmony with the mission and purpose of the established policies and goals of the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for supervision of the custodial staff and the cleanliness and sanitation of interior and exterior facility areas and routine maintenance. With an emphasis on ensuring the highest quality service to members and guests, the Facilities Coordinator will work closely with other center leaders in efforts to welcome, connect, support, and engage all members and staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Background in commercial level maintenance and cleaning.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience required.
Ability to interact positively with people of all ages and abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Function independently while providing high level of detail work with strict compliance to maintenance procedures.
Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 required within 60 days of hire.
Complete and maintain required trainings to include but not limited to: New Employee Orientation (NEO), Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention (CAP), and Sexual Harassment upon hire and annually thereafter.
Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check, and Child Protective Services check.
Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s license preferred.
Essential Functions:
Support the mission, vision and goals of the YMCA.
Promote a professional work environment through character development by modeling the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Lead in a manner that advances our cause to strengthen the foundations of our community through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Supervise all maintenance/custodial staff.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of facilities and outdoor grounds as a means of preventative maintenance.
Maintain records and forms associated with performance of duties as required.
Manage work flow through Facility Dude.
Perform housekeeping duties and light maintenance in accordance with daily responsibilities.
Participate in day-to-day cleaning and project cleaning as required (tile, rug and wood floor maintenance/cleaning).
Supervise evening and weekend maintenance/custodial staff, ensuring quality and detailed cleaning.
Assist in completing payroll and maintaining schedules for custodial staff.
Work with Center Director to assign tasks to custodial staff.
Ensure all safety and risk management trainings are completed and procedures are adhered to.
As needed, assist as point of contact for vendors, contractors and building issues as they arise when Center Director is not in facility.
Take inventory, order, and organize cleaning and paper supplies on a monthly basis within budget guidelines.
Work with vendors, coordinating and arranging area availability for repairs to be performed.
Follow department Platinum standards.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Wear staff uniform and name tag, or professional attire when appropriate.
Act as a leader in emergency situations. Report any accidents or incidents according to Emergency Communication Action Plan.
Ensure all members, guests, and program participants are in a safe environment and actively follow Center Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
Carry out other related duties as deemed necessary by the Facility department and Center operations to ensure an excellent member experience.

Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks necessary for cleaning building.
Ability to respond to emergency situations.
Ability to meet the physical demands of this position, which include mobility of travel to conferences, touring facilities, properties and participating in promotional and special events sponsored by the Association.
