Job Summary

IFS Industries is seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility and production equipment.

This position is responsible for facility and equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, process improvements, and capital projects. The role will work closely with Production, Quality, and Safety to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, support manufacturing needs, and maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on industrial experience with pumps, motors, piping, tanks, mixers, controls, and equipment troubleshooting, along with the ability to manage projects from identification and planning through installation and completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilities & Maintenance

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of production equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment-related issues.
• Provide hands-on technical support for pumps, motors, piping, tanks, mixers, controls, and other industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate planned maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production.
• Support maintenance work-order planning, spare-parts management, and equipment documentation.
• Work with outside contractors and service providers as needed.

Engineering & Process Improvement

• Evaluate manufacturing equipment and processes to identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Design or recommend equipment modifications and process improvements.
• Perform root-cause analysis on equipment failures and recurring production issues.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and qualification.
• Develop technical specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and equipment requirements.
• Partner with Production and Quality to ensure equipment and processes meet operational requirements.

Capital Projects

• Plan and execute facility improvements, equipment installations, replacements, and other capital projects.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and contractor proposals.
• Coordinate contractors, engineers, equipment manufacturers, and internal departments.
• Monitor project costs and schedules and ensure projects are completed safely and according to specifications.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety requirements and applicable OSHA and local regulations.
• Partner with Safety to identify and correct facility and equipment-related safety concerns.
• Ensure contractors follow company safety procedures while working onsite.
• Support inspections, audits, corrective actions, and equipment safety improvements.
• Promote safe work practices, including proper lockout/tagout and machine-safety procedures.

Leadership & Coordination

• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel.
• Help prioritize maintenance activities based on safety, production, and operational needs.
• Coordinate with Production leadership regarding equipment availability, repairs, shutdowns, and improvement projects.
• Assist with training and development of maintenance employees on equipment and troubleshooting practices.
• Promote accountability, preventive maintenance, good housekeeping, and continuous improvement.
