Facilities Manager

You will own maintenance, operations, and performance across current and future New York City offices. You will lead facilities teams, manage vendors and building staff, maintain critical infrastructure, oversee maintenance and emergency response, manage budgets and compliance, support a new office buildout, and coordinate workplace service requests and office moves.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance and reliability of office and critical facility systems
  • Run preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Respond to critical incidents
  • Lead and develop internal and external facilities teams
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
  • Manage building management and vendor relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and run requests for proposals
  • Supervise maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and commissioning
  • Maintain facility compliance records and operating procedures
  • Manage the facilities budget and capital expenditure planning
  • Participate in the design and operation of the new office
  • Manage service tickets
  • Coordinate with Workplace Services, IT, Security, Operations, and Legal
  • Perform handyman duties and coordinate office moves

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or workplace infrastructure
  • Direct experience operating a 50,000+ square foot commercial office in NYC
  • 2-3+ years of management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, UPS, HVAC, cooling equipment, fire suppression, and transfer switches
  • Experience managing vendors, schedules, contracts, and large facilities budgets
  • Knowledge of NYC commercial building codes, FDNY, OSHA, Local Law, and energy-efficiency standards
  • Familiarity with building management systems, preferably Schneider EcoStruxure
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, Microsoft Office, Jira, and Confluence
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems during emergencies
  • Facilities management certification or equivalent technical training preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
