Facilities Project Manager

Description

Every successful building project needs someone who speaks both languages: construction and operations.

Camelot Facility Management is hiring a Facilities Project Manager to represent the facilities team onsite with our client on a multi-year expansion project in Boston’s Back Bay, from design review and shutdown coordination through punch lists, commissioning, and turnover. You’ll bring operational realities into project meetings, coordinate the logistics that keep work moving safely, and make sure every finished space and building system is ready for live operations.

This is a facilities-side project role with no budget or contract authority. The project management team owns cost, contracts, and change orders. You own the facilities perspective: making sure operational requirements, logistics, and turnover are handled right. If your career blends facilities management and project management, and you’re the person people go to for a clear answer, this role was built for you.

Responsibilities

  • Be the connector. Serve as the primary liaison between the design and construction team and the client’s facilities leadership. Represent facilities requirements in project meetings, report status and emerging risks to stakeholders, and escalate issues that can’t be resolved at the working level.
  • Build operations into the plan. Partner with project management on project schedules, risk mitigation, and contingency planning so operational requirements are built in from the start.
  • Keep the building running. Coordinate contractor site access, loading docks, and staging with construction and security. Coordinate planned shutdowns, utility outages, and systems testing to minimize disruption to occupants and operations.
  • Catch it early. Conduct first-pass reviews of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and building systems designs. Coordinate full technical reviews with the client’s facilities team and send comments back to engineering.
  • Close it out right. Serve as the client’s primary point of contact for punch lists and project closeout as each construction phase finishes and track every item to resolution.
  • Keep people informed. Coordinate with the client’s internal communications team on occupant-facing announcements about project activity.
  • Hand it over ready. Collect and organize turnover documentation, including O&M manuals, record drawings, warranties, and commissioning reports, and enter it into facility management systems (CMMS) as needed, so facilities staff can support new systems from day one.
