Job Description:
Job Summary
The Facilities & Projects Manager is a member of the Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) department. He/She manages construction activities of both buildings and conveyor systems (e.g., overseeing bid packages and contractors, managing quality control, and ensuring the end result meets UPS standards and environmental compliance regulations).
Roles & Responsibilities:
Co-ordination of building repairs and asset protection projects.
Co-ordination of Material Handling Equipment (Conveyor System) maintenance and Repair
Manage BaSE projects related to facility construction in the Philippines, including parcel sorting facilities and healthcare product logistics warehouses.
Manage facility and equipment asset management for Philippine
Prepare project schedules and project estimation for facility construction and modification, and material handling systems
Prepare designs and plans in accordance with established codes, standards and specifications
Competitively bid and award project work, including preparation of bid and contract documents
Direct on-site management of projects which located in Philippine, and support project among Asia Pacific as needed.
Oversees building and facility’s safety to ensure compliance and audit existing facilities
Ensure the safety standard of new construction buildings, material handling systems and environmental compliance
Support operational improvement activities
Manage, coach and support career development of direct reports of Project Management & Facility Management supervisors
Job Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical)
Possess 8-10 years asset and building infrastructure management and/or experienced in managing facility construction/industrial installation projects
Experience of industrial equipment asset management and/or facility management is a strong asset
Proven leadership skills managing people with minimum 3 years of supervising direct reports preferable or minimum 5 years managing contractors considered.
Possess AutoCAD LT working knowledge
Knowledge of PLC’s and electrical controls would be an asset
Proven track record leading and executing in project management
Flexible in job focus as project work load varies from year to year
Excellent communication skill in English
Good planning, organizing and presentation skills
Willing to travel for business purpose within APAC
