Facilities Technician
Position Summary:
The Facilities Technician plays a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of the school’s buildings and grounds. This role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure a well-kept and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Technician will address maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and assist with event setups and operational logistics. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the school’s standards for a clean, secure, and welcoming campus.
The Facilities Technician will work collaboratively with the Facilities team and other departments to support daily operations, scheduled maintenance, and special projects. This position may require flexibility in hours to accommodate occasional evening and weekend activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead day-to-day repairs, technical maintenance tasks, and custodial operations to keep facilities in top condition.
- Perform skilled maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, painting, and building repairs as necessary.
- Conduct campus safety checks, including monitoring premises for unauthorized individuals and securing the campus during opening and closing.
- Support event setup and breakdown; assist with moving, building, and installing furniture or office items as required.
- Collaborate with janitorial staff to ensure timely and effective completion of custodial tasks.
- Perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, replenishing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms throughout the day.
- Report maintenance issues to the Director of Facilities and Operations and address urgent repairs or special projects as assigned.
- Attend in-service training for topics such as safety protocols, cleaning solvents, floor care, and first aid.
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support the facilities team and school operations.
